In 2011, I graduated from the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal with a degree in technical translation in English and French. My studies included not only translation classes (technology and natural sciences, law/business administration) but also courses on cultural competence and terminology work.
In order to develop my language skills and deepen my cultural knowledge, I spent two semesters abroad. During the winter semester 2008/2009 I did a work placement at the Tourist Office and Convention Bureau of Mulhouse and its region. Afterwards, I worked at the translation agency Atlas Translations in London, gaining interesting insights into the work of a translator.
After my studies, I worked as a translator and project manager for SDL International in Munich. Besides the translation and proofreading of quality-related documents (data sheets, product manufacturing instructions, handbooks and marketing material), my job also included the planning and realisation of large translation projects, including quality assurance and budgeting.
Since May 2015, I have been working as a freelance translator in Weimar. I offer professional language services for agencies and direct clients. Since April 2016, I have been authorised by the President of the State Court of Erfurt to provide certified translations in English, French and German for notaries, courts and the Public Prosecution Office.
I work with »SDL Trados Studio 2017« and I am a member of
the German Association of Translators and Interpreters (BDÜ).
I will be pleased to provide you with an individual and non-binding quote.
Of course all your information is kept in strict confidence.

A word-by-word translation is going to be clunky and awkward. But a beautiful one isn’t going to actually say the exact same thing as the original. A translator needs to walk that fine line between.Source: Patrick Rothfuss’s blog „The Perils of Translation: Babelfish.“ 11 December 2008
