Do you need a professional translation?
Does your German text need proofreading?
Then you’re in the right place!

About me

As an experienced and qualified translator, I will competently and reliably translate your documents both into and from English and German, as well as from French into German.

My areas of expertise include IT, software and engineering in general. I also enjoy becoming acquainted with other fields if required.

In my mother tongue, German, I also proofread (edit and/or correct) your (translated) texts. Please find further information about my complete range of services   here.

I would be pleased to provide you with an individual and non-binding quote on the basis of your original text. Feel free to
contact me and I’ll be very happy to assist you. All information
is, of course, kept in strict confidence.

Academic background

In 2011, I graduated from the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal with a degree in technical translation in English and French. My studies included not only translation classes (technology and natural sciences, law/business administration) but also courses on cultural competence and terminology work.

Work experience abroad

In order to develop my language skills and deepen my cultural knowledge, I spent two semesters abroad. During the winter semester 2008/2009 I did a work placement at the Tourist Office and Convention Bureau of Mulhouse and its region. Afterwards, I worked at the translation agency Atlas Translations in London, gaining interesting insights into the work of a translator.

Professional experience

After my studies, I worked as a translator and project manager for SDL International in Munich. Besides the translation and proofreading of quality-related documents (data sheets, product manufacturing instructions, handbooks and marketing material), my job also included the planning and realisation of large translation projects, including quality assurance and budgeting.

Freelance work

Since May 2015, I have been working as a freelance translator. I offer professional language services for agencies and direct clients. Since April 2016, I have been authorised by the President of the State Court of Erfurt to provide certified translations in English, French and German for notaries, courts and the Public Prosecution Office.

I work with »SDL Trados Studio 2024« and I am a member of
the German Association of Translators and Interpreters (BDÜ).

  • Patrick Rothfuss (*1973), Writer and lecturer.

A word-by-word translation is going to be clunky and awkward. But a beautiful one isn’t going to actually say the exact same thing as the original. A translator needs to walk that fine line between.
